Our family has welcomed guests to Woodbank House for over a decade, and we never tire of seeing their faces when they first glimpse the River Usk winding through the valley below. This three-story country estate sits on 20 acres of Welsh woodland, where ancient oaks frame views that stretch for miles across the countryside. We've hosted everything from intimate birthday celebrations to grand wedding receptions for up to 20 guests who stay overnight in our seven bedrooms. Each room tells its own story through original features we've carefully preserved, while six bathrooms ensure everyone starts their mornings comfortably. The heart of the house remains our dining room, where an antique table seats everyone together, and our kitchen with its traditional AGA alongside a modern electric oven handles feast preparations with ease. Party planners particularly love our games room – watching wedding guests discover the full-size snooker table always brings smiles. Some mornings you'll find early risers in our mini gym before breakfast, while others prefer coffee on the terraces overlooking the gardens. The 50" TV with surround sound transforms movie nights into proper events, especially when rain drums against the windows. We work with trusted local suppliers who know every corner of the property, from the wooded paths perfect for sunset photos to the riverside spots where many couples exchange vows. Our grounds reveal new secrets each season – spring bluebells carpeting the woodland floor, summer evenings on the lawn, autumn colors reflected in the river. The M4 and A449 put Newport, Cardiff, and Bristol within easy reach, yet once you turn up our private drive, the outside world fades away.
