About The Don
The Don sits right between Bank, Monument and Cannon Street stations, bringing together everything we love about dining in the City. Our building has quite the story - we're housed in the original Sandeman Port cellars, and you can still feel that history in the exposed brick walls and vaulted ceilings when you step inside. We've taken this incredible space and created something that works beautifully for modern dining. Our kitchen focuses on Modern European dishes, always working with seasonal British ingredients to create menus that change with what's at its best. The wine selection is something we're particularly proud of - with one of London's largest Port collections (a nod to our cellars' past) alongside an extensive list of fine wines from around the world. For private dining and parties, we've got some remarkable spaces. The Barrel Cellar downstairs still has the original stone arches where port barrels once aged - it's perfect for larger celebrations or corporate dinners. The Sandeman Room upstairs offers something more intimate, ideal for business meetings or smaller gatherings. Both spaces have their own character and can be set up however works best for your event. We're open Monday through Friday for breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Weekends, we dedicate the entire restaurant to private hire - whether that's wedding receptions, birthday parties, or company celebrations. Our team handles everything from champagne receptions to full dinner service, canapé parties to wine tastings. Being in the heart of the Square Mile means we understand what City professionals need - quick business lunches, client entertainment, team celebrations, or just a proper meal after a long day. We've built our reputation on getting these moments right, combining our historic setting with the kind of food, wine and service that makes any gathering memorable.
