Beyond the Victorian brickwork of our underground cellars lies Cellar 1, a space where parties take on an entirely different character. We've kept the original vaulted ceilings and exposed brick from when these tunnels served as working cellars beneath Covent Garden, but now they frame something far more interesting. Eighty guests fit comfortably for drinks receptions in this intimate space, where the architecture does half our decorating work for us. Our lighting technicians particularly enjoy working with these walls, washing them in colours that shift the mood from warm amber for corporate gatherings to electric blues and pinks when birthday parties really get going. The sleek polished floors reflect the light back up, creating an atmosphere you won't find in any contemporary venue. We've positioned the bar where it catches the best of the architectural features, making it a natural gathering point without blocking the flow of movement. The modern furniture we've chosen, all clean lines and comfortable seating, creates interesting contrasts against the historic brickwork. Our AV system integrates seamlessly into the space, whether you need background music that fills every corner or crystal-clear sound for speeches. Direct access from the Piazza means your guests descend straight from the bustle of Covent Garden into this unexpected space. Being right above the tube station makes arrival simple, and Charing Cross station sits just five minutes away on foot. The surrounding theatres and restaurants offer plenty of pre or post-party options, though we often find guests prefer to stay cocooned in our cellars longer than planned. For larger celebrations, we can open up the connecting spaces or include access to the museum galleries above, where Bond's actual vehicles add another dimension to your event. Our events team knows exactly how to configure Cellar 1 for different party styles, from relaxed cocktail receptions to livelier birthday celebrations.
