The Asylum Room catches afternoon light through tall windows that frame our courtyard garden, transforming throughout the day from bright meeting space to intimate dining room. We've watched countless celebrations unfold here, from micro weddings beside the fireplace to corporate dinners where executives debate strategy beneath our painted ceiling. Our Georgian bookcases stretch floor to ceiling, filled with leather-bound volumes that guests often browse during cocktail receptions. The fireplace anchors the room, its marble surround and working hearth creating a natural gathering point where we've seen wedding toasts, product launches, and birthday speeches delivered. Above, classical motifs dance across the ceiling in original plasterwork that our restoration team spent months preserving. We configure the space differently each week. For boardroom meetings, we arrange for 18 around our polished table, morning light streaming across notebooks and laptops. Theatre-style, we fit 35 chairs facing the fireplace for presentations. Our most popular setup remains the banquet configuration for 30, where long tables allow conversation to flow as freely as the wine. Standing receptions bring 40 guests together, mingling between the bookcases and spilling onto the garden terrace when weather permits. The ground floor location means easy access for all guests, with the courtyard garden providing a natural extension for drinks or fresh air between sessions. Our events team particularly loves this room for micro weddings, where ceremonies by the fireplace feel genuinely intimate, followed by dinner as daylight fades and we light the candles. Being part of Home House means full access to our kitchens and bar service, with menus tailored to each event.
