The Rum Store runs the full width of our Georgian warehouse, with those original pitch pine columns creating natural divisions between mingling and dancing. We've kept the exposed brick walls and industrial ceiling exactly as they were when rum barrels lined these floors, though now the space hosts wedding receptions, corporate parties and milestone celebrations for up to 250 guests standing or 130 seated. Your guests enter through their own private entrance, which works brilliantly for surprise parties or when you want that grand reveal moment. The wooden floors have seen centuries of footfall and add warmth to the space, while the large windows frame West India Quay beautifully. During summer events, we open the direct access to our outdoor terrace, and suddenly you've got this natural flow between inside and out. We configure the room however works for your event, whether that's round tables for a wedding breakfast, theatre-style for presentations, or completely cleared for a proper dance floor. Our in-house kitchen handles everything from formal three-course dinners to relaxed canapé receptions, with halal, kosher, vegan and gluten-free options always available. The DLR brings guests straight to us at Westferry or West India Quay stations, both just minutes away. Canary Wharf sits close enough that corporate groups often pop over after work, while the waterside location gives a completely different feel from typical city venues. Previous clients particularly love how the historic features create atmosphere without any decoration needed, though the projector and WiFi mean presentations run smoothly when required. Worth noting that on particularly sunny days, those wonderful windows can warm the room despite air conditioning, so summer events benefit from using the terrace for cooling off between dancing.
