The Main Venue Hall at The Old Dr Bells Baths brings together Victorian grandeur and contemporary style in what was once Leith's beloved swimming pool. Those original black cast-iron pillars, painted in deep graphite, now frame your celebration space rather than swimmers' lanes, while the soaring vaulted ceiling creates an atmosphere that photographs can never quite capture. We've stripped back the old pool hall to its architectural bones, leaving gleaming white walls that make the space feel twice its size. During daylight events, those massive Victorian skylights pour sunshine across the polished wooden floors, creating shifting patterns that change throughout your celebration. Come evening, the same skylights frame the stars above your party. The hall comfortably hosts 120 for seated dinners around round tables, though we can fit 150 when your guests are up dancing or mingling with drinks in hand. For larger celebrations, we can accommodate up to 200 standing guests or arrange theatre-style seating for 300. That original balcony running along one side adds visual drama and gives photographers brilliant vantage points. Our fully licensed bar stays open until 1am, serving everything from craft beers to cocktails. Working alongside Simon Preece and Food Creations, we serve anything from sharing platters to formal three-course dinners, all prepared in our purpose-built kitchen. The acoustics, originally designed for a swimming pool, now carry music beautifully, whether you bring a DJ spinning from the corner or a band setting up where the diving boards once stood. You'll find us at 121 Great Junction Street, right in the heart of Leith. The minimalist space becomes whatever you envision, from fairy lights strung between pillars to bold projections washing the walls in colour.
