About The Old Dr Bells Baths
The Old Dr Bells Baths transforms from swimming pool to party venue every time we open our doors. Back in Victorian times, this was where generations of Leith locals learned to swim. Now, we host everything from birthday celebrations to corporate parties in what used to be the main pool hall. Our main space catches people off guard. Where diving boards once stood, we now have a gleaming white hall punctuated by graphite black pillars that reach up to the original vaulted ceiling. Those massive skylights that used to light up the pool now cast dramatic patterns across the dance floor throughout the day. We can fit 120 guests for seated dinners or 150 when everyone's up dancing and mingling. We've kept the space deliberately uncluttered—just white walls and those striking black architectural features. This means you can transform it however you want. String up fairy lights between the pillars, project patterns onto the walls, or keep it minimal. The acoustics, originally designed to echo splashing water, now carry music beautifully whether you're bringing in a DJ or live band. Our partnership with Simon Preece and Food Creations means we can serve anything from casual buffets to multi-course dinners. They work out of our purpose-built kitchen and have been catering Edinburgh events for years. Behind our fully stocked bar, we'll keep drinks flowing until 1am—that's when we have to call time on exclusive use of the venue. You'll find us at 121 Great Junction Street, right in the heart of Leith.
