We built Scales Cocktail Bar from scratch, transforming a basement space into something that feels both hidden and welcoming. Book our Full Venue Hire and you get exclusive use of all 36 seats plus standing room for 40, spread across two distinct areas that flow naturally together. The main bar runs 16 feet along one wall, built from dark wood that our bartenders polish each morning before service. Your guests can pull up to any of the leather stools and watch our team work just an arm's length away, using centrifuges and precision tools from the laboratory behind the bar. We extract flavours daily, turning fresh green apples into clear essence or clarifying fig juice for our cognac creations. The process becomes part of the entertainment, especially when groups gather around to see how we transform raw ingredients into the drinks they're sipping. Our lounge holds 20 on deep banquettes where conversations naturally form in smaller groups. The stone walls and low ceilings create pockets of privacy even when the space fills up. We've arranged the seating so people can move between the bar and lounge areas without feeling cramped, important when you're hosting 30 or 40 guests for drinks. The venue works particularly well for product launches, birthday celebrations, and corporate gatherings where you want something more interesting than a standard events space. We keep background music low enough for conversation and adjust the lighting to suit your event timing. Our seasonal cocktail menu changes based on what our suppliers deliver, though we always offer non-alcoholic options like our Forest mocktail alongside the full bar. You'll find us below street level at 25 Duke Street, three minutes from Bond Street Station. Free evening parking runs along nearby streets, with several paid car parks within walking distance for afternoon events.
