The grapevines overhead tell our story better than we ever could. Since 1926, they've grown through The Clubhouse ceiling, creating a natural canopy that transforms throughout the seasons. In summer, the leaves filter sunlight into dappled patterns across your tables, while autumn brings copper tones that catch the glow from our chandeliers. We've hosted countless celebrations in this room, from intimate wedding breakfasts for 140 to cocktail parties where 320 guests flow between the bar, soft seating areas and dance floor. The versatility comes naturally, with the vine-covered beams creating distinct zones without breaking the space apart. Round tables dressed in crisp linens sit beneath the foliage, surrounded by our original wooden chairs that have seated generations of party guests. Those large windows do more than frame views across the polo grounds, they flood the room with light that changes character as your event unfolds. Morning weddings get brilliant sunshine, afternoon celebrations enjoy golden hour through the glass, and evening parties sparkle as interior lights reflect off polished wood surfaces. The bar anchors one end of the room, with comfortable seating nearby where guests gather between dinner courses or dancing. Our audio-visual setup handles everything from wedding speeches to party playlists, with equipment that blends into the architecture rather than dominating it. The dedicated dance area has hosted everything from first dances to midnight celebrations, with those vines above creating an almost enchanted feeling as the party builds. Eight miles from Hyde Park Corner, down Petersham Road where London gives way to polo fields, The Clubhouse offers that rare combination of accessibility and escape.
