The dark wood paneling catches the afternoon light just right in The Snug, our most intimate party space tucked away in the corner of our 260-year-old pub. We've kept the original Georgian features that make this room special, from the intricate glasswork to that striking neoclassical pillar that always gets guests talking. It's the kind of space where birthday celebrations feel properly special, with room for 10 of your closest friends seated around vintage-style tables, or 20 guests mingling with drinks in hand. What really sets The Snug apart is having your own private bar, so your party keeps its own rhythm without queuing alongside our regular punters. We've mounted a flatscreen TV on the wall for those who want to screen something special during their celebration, whether that's embarrassing birthday photos or keeping one eye on the match. The WiFi keeps everyone connected, though honestly, most groups get so caught up in conversation they forget about their phones entirely. The room works brilliantly for different kinds of gatherings. We've hosted everything from milestone birthday dinners where every seat is filled with laughter, to cocktail parties where guests drift between the cosy interior and our garden terrace just outside. Our kitchen serves up refined pub classics throughout the evening, and with 12 boutique bedrooms upstairs, anyone who wants to make a proper night of it can stumble upstairs rather than hunting for a late-night Uber.
