About Entire Venue - Private Hire
45 Theatre
45 Standing / Reception
The moment you step through our Victorian doorway near Waterloo station, you enter three floors of carefully preserved history at 1901 Arts Club. We open our entire residence for private hire, giving you exclusive access to spaces that have evolved from a 1901 schoolmaster's home into one of London's most distinctive venues for celebrations and gatherings. Our ground floor salon draws guests in with its magnificent Steinway grand piano positioned beneath tall windows where golden curtains frame the natural light. The original parquet flooring gleams beneath your feet as you arrange the space for your event, whether that's 45 guests in theatre seating for a concert or 20 seated at tables for an elegant dinner party. Musicians particularly love performing here, where the acoustics carry beautifully through the wood-panelled walls, and we've equipped the room for live streaming if you want to share your celebration beyond these walls. Upstairs, our first-floor lounge and bar creates a different atmosphere entirely. Leather sofas and armchairs cluster around coffee tables, while framed photographs line the walls, telling stories of past performances and gatherings. Your guests naturally gravitate here during intervals or as the evening progresses, drinks in hand from our well-stocked bar. With our late licence, celebrations can continue well into the night. The second-floor meeting room maintains its Victorian character with bookshelves, a traditional fireplace, and a substantial table that seats smaller groups when you need a quiet space for toasts or intimate conversations during your event. Natural light pours through the windows across all three floors, creating different moods as the day progresses. With capacity for 60 guests across the entire venue, we provide WiFi and audiovisual equipment alongside the period features, ensuring your private party flows seamlessly between our distinct spaces while maintaining the intimacy that makes 1901 Arts Club so special.
