The Baronial Hall at Chetham's School of Music transports you straight back to 1421 when stone masons and carpenters first crafted this remarkable space. Step inside and your eyes are immediately drawn upward to the original open timber roof, its ancient beams telling centuries of stories above tables dressed for your wedding celebration. We've welcomed countless couples into this medieval masterpiece, where the massive inglenook fireplace creates an intimate glow for evening receptions. The stone walls, hung with historical portraits, provide a dramatic backdrop for your photographer, while natural light streams through the original leaded windows during daytime ceremonies. Our low stage works perfectly for your band or string quartet, and we've seen many memorable first dances performed right in front of that magnificent fireplace. The hall comfortably seats 60 of your guests for wedding breakfast, though we often arrange it cabaret-style for 50 when couples want a more relaxed atmosphere with space for mingling. For drinks receptions, we can accommodate up to 100 guests who invariably find themselves captivated by the medieval details surrounding them.
