The Conversation Room and Mezzanine brings together centuries of scientific heritage with contemporary design in one of our most versatile spaces. Period fireplaces anchor each end of the room, while floor-to-ceiling bookcases filled with scientific volumes create an atmosphere where intellectual curiosity feels right at home. Magenta pendant lights cascade from the ceiling, their bold colour playing against the traditional wood paneling and creating exactly the kind of unexpected detail that gets guests talking. Natural light pours through the tall windows during daytime events, though the integrated AV system, complete with built-in screen and projector, works beautifully whatever the lighting conditions. We've hosted everything from product launches to milestone birthday parties here, with the room adapting effortlessly to each occasion. The 86 square metre space accommodates 100 guests for drinks receptions or theatre-style presentations, 80 for seated dinners around round tables, or 36 for boardroom meetings when you need everyone around one table. The adjoining Mezzanine adds another dimension entirely, its checkered floor and artistic lighting creating a modern indoor terrace feel that works perfectly for arrival drinks or as a dedicated catering area. Our events team knows every corner of this ground floor space, from the best spot for the bar (near the fireplace, naturally) to how the acoustics change when the room fills with guests. The kitchen access means hot food arrives hot, cold drinks stay cold, and dietary requirements are handled without fuss. Getting here couldn't be simpler, with Green Park, Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Circus stations all within easy walking distance. For those brave enough to drive into central London, we even have parking available, a genuine rarity in Mayfair.
