Our sunlit kitchen at the back of the Richmond Arms comes alive when flour dust catches the light streaming through skylights overhead. The Pasta Laboratory transforms an industrial-style space into something unexpectedly warm, where long communal tables wait ready for action, their surfaces already dusted for your first attempts at rolling fresh dough. We've kept the commercial kitchen visible and accessible, its stainless steel surfaces gleaming beside wooden prep stations where groups gather to learn the art of pasta-making. Industrial pendant lights hang above each workstation, providing perfect illumination for spotting whether your sfoglia is thin enough to read through. The open-plan design means everyone stays connected, whether they're kneading dough at the tables or watching demonstrations from our kitchen team. Our space works brilliantly for different celebrations. Hen parties love the hands-on nature of pasta-making, corporate groups find it breaks down office hierarchies faster than any trust exercise, and birthday parties often end with everyone comparing their wonky tortellini shapes. We can host 70 standing guests when the flour is cleared away, or seat 50 comfortably around our tables for a proper feast. The room opens directly onto our pub's famous suntrap garden, where guests often start with prosecco before heading in to tackle their pasta dough. Being tucked behind one of Bath's oldest Georgian terraces gives us excellent transport links while maintaining that hidden-gem feeling our regulars love. From wedding celebrations where guests make their own dinner together to photo shoots that capture the authentic messiness of real cooking, we adapt our kitchen to suit. The combination of proper commercial equipment and relaxed atmosphere means serious cooking happens alongside plenty of laughter, usually accompanied by flour fights we pretend not to encourage.
