Welcome to the Main Space at The Hoxton Basement, where East London's creative energy meets industrial heritage in the most unexpected ways. We've kept the white-washed walls deliberately minimal, creating this brilliant blank canvas that adapts to whatever vision you bring. During daylight hours, natural light streams through, transforming the concrete floors and exposed beams into something almost gallery-like. Come nightfall, our adaptable lighting system takes over, and we've seen this room become everything from a pulsing dance floor bathed in colour to an intimate dining space wrapped in warm, ambient glow. That Victorian lift shaft behind the oak door? It's original to the building, and photographers go wild for it. The raw industrial details throughout the space, the exposed beams overhead, the authentic textures, they all contribute to an atmosphere you simply can't recreate in conventional venues. Our Funktion One/Martin Audio sound system delivers whether you're bringing a DJ who needs bass that guests feel in their chest or a band requiring crystal-clear acoustics. The room comfortably holds 260 people standing, perfect for those nights when the dance floor stays packed until dawn. For seated dinners, we accommodate 175 guests, with various configurations available including cabaret style for 100 or theatre setup for 150. The second interconnected room, with its exposed brick walls, naturally becomes your bar area, though we've seen clients transform it into VIP lounges, coat storage, or quiet zones for actual conversation. Wi-Fi covers both spaces reliably, essential for modern events. Getting here from Old Street takes minutes on foot, with Hoxton and Shoreditch High Street stations equally close. Your guests will find us easily on Hoxton Street and have plenty of late-night transport options when the party ends.
