The Sugar Rooms bring together Georgian windows and exposed timber beams in a space that once stored sugar for London's brewing trade. Split across two levels connected by a private staircase, these rooms work brilliantly for everything from corporate gatherings to wedding celebrations. In the Upper Sugar Room, original oak flooring runs beneath timber beams that have watched over this space for centuries. Natural light pours through the Georgian windows overlooking our courtyard, creating the kind of atmosphere that makes afternoon meetings productive and evening receptions memorable. We can seat 100 guests for dinner here, or welcome 120 for standing receptions. The Lower Sugar Room serves as your dedicated reception space, where guests gather before moving upstairs for the main event. This two-level arrangement means your drinks reception flows naturally into dinner, or your conference registration happens separately from your main presentation space. The private staircase between the rooms keeps everything connected but distinct. We've equipped both levels with DB audio PA systems that ensure everyone hears the speeches, whether it's your CEO addressing the team or your best man telling embarrassing stories. The LED lighting adjusts throughout your event - bright and focused for daytime conferences, warm and atmospheric for evening celebrations. Our civil ceremony licence means couples can exchange vows in the Upper Sugar Room before their guests toast them in the Lower. Our kitchen prepares everything from working lunches to wedding breakfasts using seasonal ingredients. For kosher, African and Asian cuisine, we work with specialist caterers through dry hire arrangements. Liverpool Street, Moorgate and Barbican stations all sit within walking distance, making these rooms easy for guests to reach from anywhere in London.
