Rich red walls wrap around the Taproom, creating an intimate cocoon of Victorian grandeur that feels worlds away from Hunslet Road just outside. We've preserved every detail from when this was Tetley's flagship pub, the authentic wood panelling and polished brass fittings telling stories from the late 1800s while tufted leather seating invites your guests to settle in for the evening. Natural light pours through our large windows during daytime events, catching the gleam of vintage chandeliers overhead and warming the original wooden floors beneath. When evening falls, the atmosphere shifts, those same chandeliers casting a golden glow that transforms the space into something rather special. We can arrange the room for 35 seated guests around tables, or clear the floor for drinks receptions hosting up to 50 people. Your own private bar sits discreetly at the back, stocked with our rotating selection of cask ales (three local, two guest) plus the full range of spirits and wines. Our bartender stays dedicated to your group throughout the event, no queuing or waiting required. The sound system connects easily to your playlist via HDMI, while the TV screen works brilliantly for presentations or photo slideshows during speeches. Getting here couldn't be simpler, we're right near the River Aire and South Bank area with Meadow Lane car park just around the corner. The room's ground floor location means everyone can access the space comfortably, including wheelchair users. From milestone birthdays where the leather banquettes fill with three generations of family, to corporate dinners where deals get struck over our Yorkshire puddings, the Taproom adapts to whatever celebration you're planning.
