Step through the heavy doors of The Adelphi Pub & Restaurant on Hunslet Road, and you'll understand why we're one of Leeds' most sought-after party venues. The original Tetley's flagship pub, our Victorian architecture creates an atmosphere you won't find anywhere else – those carved wood panels and polished brass fittings aren't reproductions, they're the real deal from the late 1800s. We've got three distinct spaces for private parties. The Snug works brilliantly for smaller gatherings, while The Tap Room and our upstairs Function Room handle larger celebrations. Each comes with its own private bar, screens, and speaker system – everything you need without having to bring in outside equipment. We're also licensed for wedding ceremonies if you're planning something more formal. Our kitchen serves up proper pub food with seasonal touches. The Sunday roasts are particularly popular – we do classic roast beef with homemade Yorkshire puddings, Shropshire chicken, Norfolk pork, and even a cashew, walnut and cheddar nut roast. Behind the bar, we rotate five cask ales weekly (three local, two guest), alongside our full drinks selection. Tuesday nights bring our weekly quiz at 8pm – winners take home a £35 bar tab, runners-up get £15. It's become quite the local institution. When the weather cooperates, our beer garden opens up for outdoor celebrations, and yes, dogs are welcome throughout the pub. We're right near the River Aire and South Bank area, making us easy to find. The Meadow Lane car park sits nearby for anyone driving in. Whether you're planning a birthday bash, corporate event, or just want exclusive use of a proper British pub for the evening, we've hosted them all. Our Victorian features might be from another century, but we know how to throw a modern party.
