The Reading Room transforms from boardroom to ballroom with remarkable ease. Our jewel-blue walls create an intimate atmosphere that works equally well for wedding receptions or corporate presentations, while the original red timber floors add warmth that photographs beautifully. We've kept the Victorian library's character intact, including the collection of framed artwork that gives conversations natural starting points. During daylight hours, the large windows fill the space with natural light, though we find evening events take on their own magic when the heritage lighting comes into play. For seated dinners, we comfortably accommodate 60 guests at round tables, leaving plenty of room for mingling between courses. Standing receptions work brilliantly here too, with space for 70 guests to move freely between the bar service area and the main room. The layout adapts to whatever you have in mind: theatre-style for presentations, cabaret arrangement for awards ceremonies, or boardroom configuration when you need everyone around one table. Our AV system handles everything from wedding slideshows to corporate presentations, with audio facilities that ensure speeches carry clearly without overwhelming conversation. The technical setup stays discreet, never competing with the room's period features. Westminster and St James's Park stations are both walking distance away, making arrivals straightforward whether guests are coming from the office or traveling in for celebrations. The Westminster location means photo opportunities at nearby landmarks if you want to capture some London moments.
