At The Walmer Castle, our Function Room transforms from a bright daytime space into an atmospheric evening venue, thanks to four towering sash windows that frame views along Lonsdale Road. We've kept the original features that make this first-floor room special, the ornate fireplace, the elegant wallpaper, while adding modern touches where they count. Your guests won't miss a moment of the party with our private bar tucked into the corner. We've watched too many celebrations lose momentum when half the crowd disappears downstairs for drinks, so we made sure that wouldn't happen here. Behind those period panels, we've hidden an HD TV and wired the entire room with Sonos speakers, perfect when you need to screen that surprise video montage or get everyone up dancing to your carefully curated playlist. The space works brilliantly for different party styles. We can host 100 of your friends for cocktails and canapés, with plenty of room for mingling between the fireplace and the windows. For sit-down dinners, we arrange tables for up to 50 guests, creating an intimate atmosphere where conversation flows as freely as the wine. The natural light during afternoon celebrations means your photographer will thank you, while evening parties take on a golden glow from our warm lighting. Getting here couldn't be simpler. Your guests can stroll down from Portobello Market after a morning browse, or take a quick walk from Hyde Park.
