The Court Room at The Worshipful Company of Bakers transforms from a working boardroom by day to an atmospheric party space by night. We've hosted everything from 21st birthday celebrations to retirement parties in this wood-panelled room, where light oak walls create an intimate feel that works brilliantly for groups wanting something more personal than a typical function room. The space handles up to 60 guests for standing receptions, though many prefer our cabaret layout for 40, which leaves plenty of room for mingling between the tables. Our red dining chairs might look formal, but we've seen them pushed aside for some pretty energetic dance floors when the DJ gets going. The acoustics down here are exceptional, whether you're making speeches from the Master's dais or cranking up the party playlist through our sound system. We set the tables with proper glassware and fresh flowers for seated dinners, creating that special occasion atmosphere without feeling stuffy. The historical artifacts and artworks around the walls become great conversation starters during drinks receptions, and the electric organ has actually been played at several parties, adding an unexpected musical element to celebrations. Our approved caterers know the space well and create menus ranging from canapé receptions to three-course dinners, with dietary requirements easily accommodated. The bar setup works perfectly in the corner, and with our license running until 11pm, there's time for proper celebrations without feeling rushed.
