The Skills Centre transforms medical education with twelve individual microscope workstations, each equipped with Zeiss operating microscopes and comprehensive microsurgical instruments. Our training facility occupies a bright, spacious room where exposed brick walls meet modern medical technology, creating an environment that feels both professional and welcoming. Each workstation connects to our central teaching console through video links, allowing instructors to broadcast demonstrations directly to participants' screens. We've positioned the workstations to encourage collaboration while maintaining enough space for focused individual practice. The recording capabilities at each station mean participants can capture their techniques for later review, while instructors can provide detailed feedback on specific procedures. Beyond the microscope stations, we maintain twelve dedicated suturing workstations for extra-ocular procedures. Our phacoemulsification equipment supports advanced cataract surgery training, making this a comprehensive environment for ophthalmic skill development. Natural light streams through large windows throughout the day, reducing eye strain during intensive training sessions. The room accommodates 12 participants comfortably, with space to move freely between stations. We've installed air conditioning to maintain optimal conditions during hands-on sessions, and our high-speed WiFi ensures seamless connectivity for any digital resources you need. Traditional teaching tools like whiteboards and flipcharts complement our high-tech equipment, supporting various teaching styles.
