The Drawing Room catches everyone off guard when they first step inside. Those mint-green walls and cream details have remained unchanged since the 1860s, creating an atmosphere that feels both grand and surprisingly intimate. We've watched countless guests pause mid-conversation to admire Herbert Draper's 'The Gates of Dawn' painting, which commands attention from its position above the fireplace. Victorian crystal chandeliers cast patterns across the original plasterwork ceiling, while natural light pours through tall windows overlooking Throgmorton Avenue. The room comfortably holds 120 guests for standing receptions, though many prefer our theatre arrangement for 100 or cabaret setup for 56 when hosting presentations or more formal gatherings. Original furnishings line the walls, including those distinctive mint-green settees where guests often gather during cocktail hours. The marble fireplace, flanked by sculptures of HM The Queen and HRH The Prince of Wales, serves as a natural focal point for photographs.
