The grand staircase at 41 Portland Place leads you to our entire first floor and terrace, where Georgian craftsmanship meets contemporary event hosting across multiple interconnected spaces. We've carefully preserved the original features that make this floor so special, from the ornate ceiling work to the period fireplaces that anchor each room with authentic 18th-century character. The Council Chamber forms the heart of this floor, where stately columns frame tall windows that flood the space with natural light. Those antique mirrors aren't just decorative, they amplify the brightness and create an even more spacious feel for your 150 standing guests or 60 seated for dinner. The neutral walls and classic artwork provide the perfect canvas for your event styling, whether you're planning a product launch or wedding celebration. Flow naturally between rooms as your event unfolds, with the Ann Rylands Room opening directly onto our terrace through French doors. This outdoor space transforms summer events with its artificial grass underfoot and olive and eucalyptus trees creating an urban garden atmosphere. We can accommodate 40 guests at a time on the terrace, where candlelit tables and comfortable seating create the perfect setting for cocktail hour or al fresco dining. Just remember the terrace closes at 9pm to keep our Marylebone neighbours happy. Our kitchen team works from professional facilities to deliver everything from canapés to full dinner service, with halal, kosher, vegan and gluten-free menus readily available.
