Chocolate-making machinery once filled this first-floor space, and the industrial bones of that history still shape every corner of the Menier Lounge. Red cast-iron columns punctuate the room, their original paint preserved from the building's factory days, while exposed brickwork and timber beams frame the 60-person capacity space with authentic character. We've arranged the room to work brilliantly for parties, with plush velvet sofas creating natural conversation zones and period furniture pieces adding unexpected touches throughout. The striking industrial table anchors the central area, perfect for birthday buffets or wedding cake displays, while wooden floors warm the entire space. Natural light floods through our floor-to-ceiling windows, and trailing plants cascade from various points, softening the harder industrial elements. The practical side matters just as much for party planning. Our 65-inch screen handles photo montages or party videos effortlessly, connected to WiFi that actually keeps up when everyone's sharing their night on social media. The full kitchen gives caterers everything they need, whether you're planning canapés for 60 standing guests or a sit-down dinner for 50. Three toilets mean no awkward queues disrupting the flow of your celebration. Our walled garden changes everything in warmer months, expanding capacity to 100 guests when both spaces combine. Private and enclosed, it lets parties spill outside naturally while keeping everyone together. We've hosted 40th birthdays that started with afternoon drinks in the garden before moving inside for dinner, wedding receptions where guests mingled outdoors during golden hour, and corporate celebrations that used both spaces for different party zones.
