Round tables draped in dark linens fill the May Room, each paired with comfortable black chairs that make long meetings surprisingly bearable. We've found this combination works equally well for workshop breakouts, training sessions, or those informal team gatherings where conversation flows more freely than in traditional boardroom setups. Natural light streams through our windows throughout the day, though we can adjust the atmosphere with soft lighting when presentations require it. The neutral walls serve as a calm backdrop, punctuated by a large mirror that helps the space feel larger and abstract artwork that adds character without distraction. Our patterned carpet might seem like a small detail, but it's practical too, hiding the inevitable coffee spills that happen during intense brainstorming sessions. We can arrange the room to suit your needs. For larger presentations, we fit 60 in theatre style. Board meetings work best with 30 around our tables, while training sessions run smoothly with 30 in classroom layout. The U-shape configuration seats 25 and encourages discussion, whilst cabaret style accommodates 32 for those sessions mixing presentation with group work. Banquet style fits 50 when your meeting extends into lunch or dinner. The AV equipment actually works when you need it, and our Wi-Fi handles multiple devices without dropping connection mid-presentation. Being part of our Victorian building on New Walk, the May Room sits away from street noise, yet Leicester station remains just five minutes' walk. City centre shops and restaurants are close enough for lunch breaks, though many groups prefer our in-house catering from chef David Ferguson's kitchen. I would recommend the Belmont Leicester as a meeting venue, its a charming hotel with excellent facilities and lovely staff. the room was perfect and very good value.
