You'll find the Café Bar through the main entrance of our venue, a bright ground-floor space where original church windows cast patterns of light across wooden floors throughout the day. We've kept the warm character of this former schoolroom from 1896, with exposed timber beams overhead and artwork from local artists bringing colour to the walls. The room works beautifully for different setups, whether you're planning a presentation for 84 delegates classroom-style, hosting 65 for a seated dinner, or gathering up to 90 guests for drinks and networking. Red-cushioned chairs add comfort during longer sessions, while the flexible furniture arrangement means we can quickly reconfigure the space between your morning workshop and afternoon breakout sessions. Our PA system, projector and retractable screen are all built in, so there's no fussing with external equipment when you need to share presentations or play videos. The acoustics here are particularly good, thanks to the original construction, which means your speakers won't struggle to be heard even at the back of the room. During breaks, this becomes the natural hub where delegates gravitate towards the serving area for coffee and refreshments. The combination of natural daylight and warm wood creates an atmosphere that encourages conversation, something we've noticed really helps with networking sessions. Jazz evenings have proven especially popular here, where the intimate scale and acoustics create just the right ambience. Getting to us is straightforward, with regular buses stopping nearby and the train station within walking distance. While we don't have our own parking, there are several public car parks in the surrounding streets. Full lift access and accessible facilities throughout mean all your delegates can move comfortably between this space and other areas of the building.
