The wooden floors creak slightly as you walk into Major Hall, a sound that's echoed through this space for generations. We've preserved these original boards alongside the stained-glass windows that cast coloured light across 3,000 square feet of meeting space on our third floor. Our venue's largest room combines historical architecture with the technology your meetings require. The vaulted ceilings create excellent acoustics, which our built-in PA system and voice-enhanced microphones complement perfectly. The ceiling-mounted projector beams onto the wall screen without any setup fuss, while laptop inputs at the lectern mean presenters simply plug in and begin. The space adapts to your numbers effortlessly. We regularly host 480 delegates in theatre style, though many clients prefer the collaborative atmosphere of our cabaret layout for 350. Board meetings work particularly well here too, with the U-shape configuration seating 80 around tables. The stage serves presentations during the day, then transforms the room for evening networking when clients want to use the private bar. Natural light fills the hall throughout the day, reducing the need for artificial lighting during morning sessions. We've installed hearing induction loops as standard, and our high-speed WiFi handles hundreds of devices simultaneously. The telephone connectivity and DVD players provide backup options for international calls or video content. Getting here couldn't be simpler. Westgate station sits minutes away on foot, connecting directly to Leeds and London. The M1/M62 junction is nearby for those driving, with public parking available throughout the day. Our Grade II listed building stands prominently in Wakefield's centre, making it easy for delegates to find us. From AGMs to training workshops, product launches to charity fundraisers, Major Hall accommodates your event requirements with both space and style.
