About Arthur C. Clarke House
Space exploration memorabilia lines the walls of our Technology and Concepts Annex, where models of historic spacecraft catch the afternoon light through tall windows. We're Arthur C. Clarke House, headquarters of the British Interplanetary Society—the world's oldest continuously operating space society—and we've been hosting meetings in this Vauxhall building since it became our home. Our Golovine Lecture Theatre serves as the main meeting space, accommodating up to 50 seated guests. We've equipped it with built-in AV systems, video recording capabilities, a ceiling-mounted projector, and a retractable screen. The adjustable lighting lets you create the right atmosphere whether you're presenting technical data or screening documentary footage. Right next door, the Technology and Concepts Annex works perfectly as a breakout area between sessions or for smaller group discussions surrounded by our collection of space-related artifacts. Upstairs, our Council Room provides a more intimate setting for board meetings and executive sessions. We've furnished this prestigious space with pieces from the Society's collections, and it seats up to 12 people around our boardroom table. The 40-inch LCD screen connects easily to laptops for presentations, and we include complimentary refreshments with every Council Room booking. Guest Wi-Fi reaches throughout the building. For something truly distinctive, consider our L.J. Carter Library. Housing decades of space exploration archives, original documents, and rare publications, the library accommodates up to 30 standing guests. We've hosted book launches, filmed documentaries, and held specialist seminars among these historic shelves. You'll find us on South Lambeth Road, less than five minutes' walk from both Vauxhall Mainline and Underground stations. Vauxhall Park sits nearby for lunch breaks, and the Thames is just a short stroll away. We offer everything from basic room hire to full-day delegate packages, with pricing structured to suit different budgets and requirements.
