The German beer tanks gleam behind our bar at Glasshaus, where we pour fresh Kraft beer brewed right here in Mercato Metropolitano. Our 1,150 square foot space sits within this buzzing South London food market, just a short walk from Elephant & Castle station on Newington Causeway. We built our venue with fully transparent polycarbonate walls and roof, so daylight streams through every corner during afternoon parties. The wooden decking underfoot and rattan lampshades overhead create a relaxed feel that our guests love for celebrations. When evening arrives, the warm lighting transforms the space into something special. Our bar serves more than just our tank-fresh German beer. We work with local distillery partners who create gin specifically for our Jim & Tonic cocktails, and we keep a carefully chosen selection of wines and other drinks. The beer benches throughout can seat up to 100 people comfortably, though we often rearrange them or clear them entirely when groups prefer standing space for up to 150 guests. We've hosted everything from engagement parties to corporate socials here. Some companies book us for team-building activities, taking advantage of the open floor plan. We've even had morning yoga sessions when groups want something different. The covered, heated areas mean British weather never disrupts plans, and our dedicated toilets are reserved exclusively for private hire guests. For food, we can arrange catering through our in-house team or connect you with our approved external caterers who know the space well. The surrounding Mercato Metropolitano market also offers incredible options if you want to incorporate the wider venue into your event. Paid parking operates nearby for guests driving in. Our industrial-meets-comfort design, with the market's energy buzzing just outside, creates an atmosphere you won't find in traditional party venues.
