About Holywell Studio
At Holywell Studio, we've transformed a Shoreditch townhouse into something quite special for East London's creative community. Since opening our doors at 20 Holywell Row in late 2021, we've watched countless celebrations unfold across our two distinct floors, each bringing their own energy to the space. The ground floor reception greets you with natural light streaming through the windows - this is where most of our parties happen. We've arranged the space with mid-century modern furniture that guests can shift around however works best for their event. The built-in PA system means you won't need to hire external sound equipment, and our projector and screen have been perfect for everything from birthday video montages to corporate presentations during launch parties. Downstairs, our basement studio offers a completely different feel. Originally designed by our founder Jennings Couch for recording and music production, this intimate space with its ambient lighting creates an underground club atmosphere that's proven popular for more intimate gatherings. The lounge area down here provides a second zone where guests naturally drift to for quieter conversations. Between both floors, we can comfortably host up to 40 people. The two kitchenettes - one on each level - make catering straightforward, whether you're bringing in professionals or handling food and drinks yourself. Having two toilets means no awkward queues building up during peak party moments. We've hosted everything from product launches where brands showcase their latest offerings, to birthday parties that run late into the night, networking events where Shoreditch's creative professionals connect, and corporate functions that need something less conventional than a typical meeting room. The recording studio equipment stays accessible if you want to incorporate music-making into your celebration - we've seen some memorable impromptu performances happen here.
