The moment you step through our glass doors at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, you're greeted by the dramatic sweep of our Foster and Partners-designed building, where curved glass meets steel in perfect harmony above the River Tyne. We've been hosting weddings and celebrations here on Gateshead Quayside for years, and each event brings its own magic to our three distinct spaces. Our Hall One seats 1,700 guests and was modeled after Vienna's Musikverein, creating an atmosphere that transforms wedding ceremonies into something truly special. For more intimate celebrations, we open up Hall Two, our ten-sided theatre that holds 400 people, where every seat feels connected to the celebration. The Northern Rock Foundation Hall offers complete flexibility - we've seen it transformed for everything from cocktail receptions to dinner dances. What makes weddings here particularly memorable are the riverside views through our glass walls. Your photographer will have endless opportunities with the Newcastle skyline as backdrop, especially during golden hour when the light streams through our architecture. We've been recognized as one of the Independent's top 50 wedding venues worldwide, something our events team takes pride in living up to with every celebration. Our in-house caterers work exclusively with local and seasonal produce, creating menus that range from relaxed buffets to formal three-course wedding breakfasts. The bars and cafés throughout the building mean your guests can enjoy drinks while taking in those river views, and our brasserie provides another dining option for rehearsal dinners or day-after brunches. We're fully accessible with facilities for wheelchair users and services for visually and hearing impaired guests.
