Here at St Paul's URC, we've been welcoming South Croydon folks through our doors for generations, and honestly, we're pretty proud of how this old building has evolved. Step inside and you'll see what I mean—those original stained glass windows still catch the afternoon light beautifully, while our main sanctuary has all the grandeur you'd expect from Victorian architecture. But don't let the traditional exterior fool you. We've worked hard to make this a proper community hub. Our main hall transforms brilliantly—yesterday it hosted a corporate training day, and this weekend we've got a 50th birthday bash booked in. The smaller rooms work great for breakout sessions or quieter gatherings. And yes, we've got all the practical bits sorted: decent kitchen facilities, level access throughout (including our accessible loo), reliable WiFi, and parking for 15 cars right outside. The 407 bus literally stops at our front gate, and East Croydon's trams are just a 10-minute walk away. What I love most about working here? The mix of people who come through. Local businesses book us for their away days, families celebrate milestones in our halls, and community groups meet here weekly. Bring your own caterers or use our kitchen—whatever works for you.
