The moment you step through our doors at The Counting House on 50 Cornhill, you're transported into what was once a grand 19th-century banking hall. We've kept all the original splendor - the soaring glass-domed ceiling still floods our main space with natural light, while the original sweeping staircase makes quite an impression on first-time visitors. Our kitchen team takes particular pride in our handmade British pies, using seasonal ingredients to create refined versions of pub classics. Whether you're joining us for a working lunch in one of our four function rooms or settling in for dinner beneath our historic chandeliers, we've maintained the building's elegant atmosphere while adding modern touches like air conditioning, Wi-Fi throughout, and TV screens for presentations. For overnight guests, we offer 15 luxurious rooms fitted with 1800 pocket sprung mattresses and Egyptian cotton linens. Each room includes a Nespresso machine, and we've ensured reliable Wi-Fi and air conditioning throughout - because comfort matters as much as character. Our versatile spaces work beautifully for different occasions. The Griffin Room, our largest function space, holds up to 80 guests and comes with its own private bar - perfect for wedding receptions or corporate celebrations. The dark wood paneling in our meeting rooms creates a more formal atmosphere for boardroom sessions or training workshops, while our club room with its high ceilings and massive skylights suits larger birthday parties or networking events.
