Three rooms, each with its own personality—that's what makes The Punchbowl Hotel on Jesmond Road something different. We're the pub where Russian art hangs alongside a working model railway, and yes, our electronic toilets are straight out of Tokyo McDonald's. People always do a double-take when they first use them. Our ground floor buzzes with conversation over craft beers and vermouths—we pour over 30 different wines and beers, with fourteen on cask and two vermouths on draught. The kitchen sends out pretzel burgers, tacos, and proper Sunday roasts that fill the place with tempting aromas. We've got smaller plates for sharing, plus dedicated menus for kids and vegans because everyone deserves good food. Upstairs, Bobiks transforms from intimate music venue to comedy club to cinema throughout the week. The 60-seat space used to be an old ballroom, and we've kept the original charm while adding automatic curtains, a proper stage, and cinema screen. Musicians love the acoustics, comedians appreciate the close crowd, and film buffs enjoy the cozy setup for screenings. Dogs settle happily under tables while their owners chat over drinks. When Newcastle weather cooperates, our outdoor seating fills quickly—there's something about a pint in the fresh air that brings people together.
