The Gothic arches of Westminster Abbey have witnessed coronations, royal weddings, and state occasions for over a thousand years. Today, we open our doors for your celebrations too, whether you're planning a garden party among ancient roses or an elegant dinner beneath medieval stone vaults. Our College Garden, where monks first planted herbs in the 11th century, transforms into a magnificent reception space for up to 1,000 guests. During June and July, we can arrange a marquee for seated dinners of 500. The garden's centuries-old plane trees and lavender borders create an atmosphere you won't find anywhere else in London. For more intimate gatherings, our Cellarium offers something truly special. This 14th-century undercroft, with its honey-colored stone vaulting, seats 80 for dinner or welcomes 120 for standing receptions. Just above, our contemporary Cellarium Terrace gives you views of the Abbey's west towers while accommodating 60 guests for drinks. The 13th-century Cloisters, where monks once walked in contemplation, now serve as an elegant backdrop for summer receptions of up to 400 people. Meanwhile, 52 feet above the Abbey floor, our Queen's Diamond Jubilee Galleries provide an exclusive setting for 100 guests, surrounded by treasures from our collection. We work with trusted caterers and event suppliers who understand the unique nature of our spaces. As part of your booking, we can arrange private Abbey tours for your guests - imagine their faces as they stand where monarchs were crowned. While we don't host wedding ceremonies or personal receptions, our venues excel at corporate celebrations, gala dinners, and professional gatherings.
