When you book the Whole Venue at The Admiral's House, every corner of this magnificent 1660 building becomes your private domain for the day. From the moment your guests step through the entrance on King William Walk, they'll find themselves in Greenwich's oldest naval building, where Charles II once commissioned the very foundations beneath their feet. The ground floor welcomes everyone with that striking black-and-white checkered floor, where cocktails flow as naturally as the Thames light streaming through our tall windows. We've watched countless celebrations begin right here, guests gathering beneath our original wooden paneling before moving through to discover each unique space. The Hawksmoor Room creates perfect intimacy for 18 dinner guests, while the Hardwick Room opens up for grander affairs, seating 60 comfortably or hosting 70 for standing receptions. Upstairs, accessed by our original 17th-century staircases, the Webb and Wren Rooms each accommodate 50-60 guests, their double-height ceilings creating an atmosphere you simply won't find in modern venues. Our transparent chairs might seem an unexpected touch against the antique furnishings and working fireplaces, but we've found they let the architecture speak while keeping things fresh for contemporary celebrations. Company of Cooks manages all our catering, though dry hire remains an option if you've specific arrangements in mind. With exclusive use, there's no sharing facilities or navigating around other events. The Kay Room becomes your private retreat for smaller groups of 10-15, perhaps a quiet space for family during weddings or a breakout area during corporate gatherings. Just minutes from Cutty Sark DLR station, we can accommodate 90 guests across the entire house for drinks receptions, or 70 seated on round tables for banquet-style dining. Birthday parties, anniversaries, corporate events, and weddings all find their perfect setting within these historic walls.
