The Gallery, Kitchen and Garden spans the entire ground floor of our Georgian terrace, where warm wooden floors have witnessed over a century of gatherings. Rich, earthy walls showcase rotating artwork that brings bursts of colour to complement the room's original architectural details, from the restored cornicing to the period shutters that frame tall windows. We've arranged this space to flow naturally from the Gallery through to our contemporary Kitchen extension, where floor-to-ceiling glass doors reveal the planted garden beyond. The flowers we've chosen echo those Van Gogh would have known during his 1873 stay in London, creating a living connection to our artistic heritage. For seated dinners, we can accommodate 25 guests around our long dining table, where floral centrepieces and candlelight transform evening celebrations. Standing receptions work beautifully here too, with space for 30 guests to move between the Gallery's intimate corners and the Kitchen's bright, modern atmosphere. Our Kitchen isn't just for show, it's fully equipped for your caterers to prepare everything from cocktail canapés to three-course dinners. The PA system handles background music or speeches, while reliable Wi-Fi keeps everyone connected. We've found the space particularly suits book launches, where authors can speak in the Gallery before guests spill into the Kitchen for drinks and conversation. Product launches benefit from the natural light flooding the extension, while private parties love how the different areas create distinct moods throughout the evening. Just moments from Stockwell tube station, guests find us easily tucked into our residential street. As a Grade II listed building, our Georgian staircase and narrow hallways add authentic character, though they do mean ground floor access only for this particular space. Each event here becomes part of Van Gogh House's continuing creative story.
