The Gallery's Art Deco rooflights catch everyone's attention first, their geometric patterns casting beautiful shadows across the 343m² space throughout the day. We've hosted countless celebrations in this former 1939 lending library, and each time we're struck by how the light transforms the room from morning ceremonies to evening dancing. Those original rooflights were designed for readers browsing books, but now they illuminate first dances and champagne toasts. The smooth wooden floors have seen everything from traditional ceilidhs to contemporary DJ sets, while the neutral walls become whatever our clients envision - we've seen them draped in silk for weddings, hung with artwork for launches, and projected with company logos for corporate celebrations. The space comfortably holds 250 guests for standing receptions or 200 seated for dinner, though we find the room works equally well for more intimate gatherings of 100 or so. The proportions just seem to adapt. During wedding ceremonies, guests often comment on the acoustics, how vows carry clearly without amplification thanks to the height of the space. Being part of Pitzhanger Manor means your guests can spill out into other areas too. Pre-dinner drinks often happen in the Georgian rooms or conservatory, while the park provides a lovely backdrop for photographs. The manor sits right in Walpole Park, with Ealing Broadway station just a short walk away, making it surprisingly easy for guests coming from central London. We schedule Gallery availability between our exhibition programmes, so timing needs some planning. But when the space is free, it truly comes into its own as a party venue, the rooflights glowing as darkness falls, the whole room filled with music and celebration, just as Sir John Soane intended when he built his country home for entertaining.
