The Drawing Room sits on the first floor of our Victorian townhouse, where Lucy Makin's hand-painted Chinoiserie walls have been greeting guests since the 1920s. These delicate murals wrap around the space, creating an atmosphere that transforms throughout the day as natural light shifts across the intricate brushwork. We often hear guests pause mid-conversation when they first notice the details, from tiny birds perched among flowering branches to distant mountain scenes that seem to float above the wainscoting. Our grand piano anchors one corner of the room, and we've hosted everything from jazz quartets to classical recitals here. The acoustics work beautifully, whether it's live music during cocktail hour or someone giving a presentation using our projector and PA system. The original fireplace still works perfectly, and during winter events, we light it to add warmth to the already intimate atmosphere. French windows open onto our balcony, where guests naturally drift during receptions. The view over our terraced garden provides a green backdrop that feels surprisingly removed from Mayfair's busy streets below. We can arrange the room for 60 guests, whether you need theatre-style rows for presentations, round tables for dining, or an open floor plan for mingling. The grand chandelier overhead catches the light differently at various times of day, and we've noticed photographers particularly love the way it plays against the painted walls during golden hour. Our Wi-Fi reaches every corner reliably, essential for business gatherings, while the projector screen descends discreetly when needed without disrupting the room's character. Hyde Park Corner Station is just moments away, making arrival straightforward for your guests. We find The Drawing Room works equally well for board presentations, anniversary celebrations, or cocktail receptions where conversation flows as freely as the drinks.
