Step through the glass atrium entrance and you'll find yourself in our Ballroom, a first-floor Georgian gem that's been hosting everything from board meetings to birthday parties since we restored it in 2017. Two original fireplaces anchor the room, their mantels catching the natural light that floods through our large windows throughout the day. We've kept the strong Georgian colours that give the space its character, painting the walls in period-appropriate hues that complement the high ceilings. The room breathes differently depending on how you use it: set up boardroom-style for 20 colleagues around our central table, classroom configuration for 30 delegates, or clear the floor for standing receptions hosting up to 100 guests. For seated dinners, we comfortably accommodate 30, with our on-site chef preparing buffet-style lunches from the adjacent kitchen facilities. The private entrance means your corporate training or celebration stays completely separate from the pub below. We've installed a TV screen for presentations, and our high-speed internet keeps remote attendees connected during hybrid meetings. The space transforms remarkably from morning workshops to evening parties, with lighting that echoes the gas lamps that would have illuminated gatherings here in 1829. Getting here couldn't be simpler, with Clerkenwell's excellent transport links putting you minutes from major stations. The Ballroom works particularly well for christening parties, where families appreciate the privacy while still enjoying the atmosphere of a proper London pub. Corporate groups use it for away days and product launches, while couples have celebrated intimate wedding receptions under these historic beams. We provide basic tea and coffee facilities, with full bar service available from downstairs. Every booking supports the Sekforde House Trust, meaning your event contributes directly to educational opportunities for local students.
