The Captain's Bar takes over our entire lower deck, giving your party its own world beneath the main pub. With your own dedicated bar down here, there's no queuing or jostling with other customers, just your bartender keeping drinks flowing exactly how your group likes them. We've kept the original wooden beams and rustic touches that give the space real character, while making sure everything works for modern parties. The wall-mounted TV swivels to wherever you need it, whether that's showing birthday videos or company presentations. Your playlist runs straight through our sound system, just plug in your phone or laptop and you control the atmosphere. For seated dinners, we comfortably fit 40 guests around tables where everyone can actually hear each other talk. Standing parties work brilliantly too, with space for 70 people to move between the bar, the seating areas, and the doors that open directly onto the canal towpath. Summer parties love spilling out onto the waterside, drinks in hand, watching the narrowboats glide past. The large windows frame the canal even from down here, so you still get those water views that make our pub special. Having your own WC facilities means no one's wandering upstairs during speeches or special moments. The separate entrance from the towpath also means guests can come and go without traipsing through the main pub. From 40th birthdays where old friends reunite around the bar, to wedding receptions that dance until closing, to team celebrations where the boss finally loosens their tie, the Captain's Bar adapts to whatever party you're throwing.
