Behind the buzz of our main hall, the Bitters Bar offers your own corner of Canova Hall with all the character and none of the crowds. This semi-private space keeps you connected to the venue's energy while giving your group of up to 60 standing guests (or 40 seated) room to properly celebrate. Your dedicated bartender works from the bar's own setup, mixing drinks without any queuing or waiting. We stock it with everything from our house-distilled gin to craft beers on tap, plus all the ingredients for proper cocktails. Those original Edwardian windows we're known for continue into this space, bringing daylight to afternoon gatherings before our pendant lights take over for evening parties. The exposed brick walls and industrial touches mirror the main hall's aesthetic, but here they create a more intimate atmosphere. We configure the long communal tables and seating however suits your party, whether that's one big feast-style setup or smaller groupings for mingling between courses. The rustic wood furnishings work equally well dressed up for birthdays or kept casual for after-work drinks. Just steps from Brixton Station, your guests find us easily, and the surrounding streets offer plenty of pre or post-party options. Friday and Saturday evenings, we open the space from 7pm until 1am with no minimum spend required, just your bartender included throughout the night. The flexible layout means we adapt to whatever kind of party you're planning. Corporate teams use it for more relaxed gatherings away from the formality of meeting rooms, while birthday groups love having their own bar without losing the atmosphere of being out properly.
