Walk into The Orangery at the Black Lion and the first thing that strikes you is the light. Through the transparent ceiling, daylight pours into this remarkable space, where cloud-like installations float above wooden tables and hanging plants cascade from the beams. We've created something rather special here, a room that feels both indoors and out, perfect for celebrations that need something beyond the ordinary pub function room. The space works brilliantly for parties of all kinds. We can seat 80 for a proper sit-down dinner, arrange 60 cabaret-style for presentations with dining, or welcome up to 120 guests for drinks receptions. The rustic wooden flooring and natural elements create a relaxed atmosphere that suits everything from milestone birthdays to corporate celebrations. Through the clear walls, your guests can see our tree-filled garden, and when weather permits, they can step straight out into this green oasis. We've equipped The Orangery with everything modern events require. There's Wi-Fi throughout, a flatscreen TV for presentations or photo montages, and a PA system for speeches or background music. The transparent ceiling means you get natural light during daytime events, while evenings take on a magical quality as darkness falls above. Getting here couldn't be easier. Stamford Brook Station is just a short walk away, and we have wheelchair access throughout, including accessible toilets. There's parking nearby for those driving.
