The Berlin Lounge sits beneath our Clerkenwell Road venue, where the atmosphere shifts from the classical refinement upstairs to something altogether more intimate. Descending the stairs, you enter a world of deep leather sofas and vintage rugs scattered across wooden floors, where art deco details meet exposed brick in a space that feels both timeless and thoroughly London. Our fireplace anchors the room, drawing people together naturally as conversations flow around its warmth. The private bar runs along one wall, fully stocked for whatever the evening calls for, whether that's champagne toasts or carefully mixed cocktails. We've hosted everything from 60-person cocktail parties where guests spill across the sofas and gather by the bar, to focused board meetings for 20 around our configurable tables. The lighting here does something special, we've noticed. Street-level windows let in just enough natural light during early evening events, while our ambient lighting creates pools of warmth that make everyone look good in photos. The PA system handles presentations smoothly, but it's equally at home with jazz quartets or DJs who understand the room's particular acoustics. Corporate teams book the Berlin Lounge when they want meetings that don't feel like meetings. Birthday parties tend to start civilised and end memorable. Product launches work brilliantly here, the basement setting creating an exclusive feel without trying too hard. We can arrange the furniture however suits, from boardroom configurations to scattered seating that encourages mingling. The space has character that photographs can't quite capture, something about how the leather, brick, and wood come together with that particular basement quality of being separate from the world above. Wi-Fi runs throughout, the heating works properly, and our kitchen upstairs sends down whatever food you've arranged, from canapés to three-course dinners.
