About The Alan
Six stories of Manchester industrial heritage transformed into The Alan - we've kept the bones of the building but given it a completely different purpose. Our ground floor flows from coffee bar to restaurant to workspace throughout the day, with 137 rooms stacked above where business travelers actually want to stay. We built SITU, our main event space, to handle the big stuff - 200 people for conferences, product launches, even fashion shows. The exposed brick and original features mean you don't need much decoration. Corporate teams book it for away days, while creative agencies use the industrial backdrop for their presentations. The space works just as well for gala dinners as it does for TEDx-style talks. Our meeting rooms come with the tech sorted - screens, conferencing equipment, proper acoustics. But we know people also meet over coffee, so the ground floor doubles as co-working space. Local roasters Ancoats supply our coffee, and the bar stocks Manchester craft beers for when the laptops close. The restaurant serves whatever's good right now - seasonal ingredients, local suppliers where possible. Our chefs handle everything from working lunches to three-course celebration dinners. The open kitchen means your event catering comes straight from the pass, not reheated in some back room. We're right between Piccadilly and Victoria stations, so your guests can actually get here. The tram stops practically outside. Parking's available nearby, though most people don't bother driving into the city center. Teams use our rooms for overnight stays during multi-day conferences. Each has an Emperor bed, rainfall shower, and Haeckels products - the organic skincare brand from Margate. We partnered with local makers wherever possible, because Manchester's creative scene is what makes this building worth visiting.
