Step inside The Bedford and you'll find yourself in a Grade II listed building that's been bringing Balham together since Victorian times. We've recently completed a multi-million-pound refurbishment that honors our heritage while creating spaces that work brilliantly for modern celebrations. Our five distinct bars each have their own character - from the intimate cocktail bar with its copper-topped counter to the bustling main bar where locals mix with party guests. The ballroom upstairs transforms from an elegant dining space by day to a proper party venue by night, complete with our state-of-the-art sound system and AV technology that makes presentations crisp and dance floors come alive. The Club Room remains the heart of what we do. This is where Ed Sheeran played before he was selling out stadiums, where Sam Smith found his voice, and where we still showcase new talent every week. For private parties, this space creates an atmosphere you simply can't replicate - your guests get that authentic live venue feel with all the exclusivity of their own event. Our restaurant focuses on ingredients from across the British Isles, with our chefs particularly proud of the responsibly sourced fish dishes. We've put equal thought into our vegan and vegetarian options - they're not afterthoughts but genuine highlights of the menu. The private dining room seats up to 40 for more intimate celebrations, while larger parties can take over entire floors. For those staying overnight, our fifteen boutique bedrooms feature Hypnos beds dressed in Egyptian cotton, with either roll-top baths or rain showers.
